I would like to thank the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria for inviting me to judge Dogs at their Championship Show.
All the dogs shown were in very good clean condition and I was very pleased with my entry.
Thank you to the Officers and Committee for all their hard work and warm welcome and the very nice lunch. It is a very nice venue and there was a really great atmosphere.
Many thanks to my steward for looking after me in the ring it was extremely well organised.
VETERAN DOG (7/5) 2 Absent
1st Loverock’s SH CH THORNYWAIT CRACKERJACK AT LOVISSA A handsome dog one I have admired since a young boy. He has a dark gold coat in good condition lovely masculine head and soft expression with a dark eye. Balanced shape overall. Strong pasterns both front and rear, straight forelegs, good shoulders, deep through the heart with well sprung ribs, level top line, well bent stifles and well-muscled rear quarters. Good strong, straight hocks, he moved with purpose and drive. BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.
2nd McCormack’s SH CH FLYNGALEE ALONSO
This boy was an older Veteran, but you could not tell, mid gold colour and another I have seen around the shows and liked. A lovely expressive, masculine head with a dark eye, an excellent front with good lay back of shoulder. Straight forelegs, well sprung ribs and a level top line. Correct tail set and turn of stifle. A close decision to one but lost out on coat condition.

1st Towers & Henderson’s ALIBREN GALILEO TO WESTERVANE JW SGWC
A very nice pale gold dog. Excellent balance when stood. This boy had a nice dark eye, correct layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Straight front and tight feet, a good reach of neck, with a level top line and correct tail set also a good turn of stifle with hocks well let down and straight. Would be nice to see him move a little quicker to see the drive from the rear.
2nd Rose & Neil’s GILDAS AMORI INFINITI
Dark gold in coat this boy was a little finer than one but overall was a nice shape. A happy boy he had a pleasing head, good reach of neck, straight front, well sprung ribs and good turn of stifle, straight hocks, moved straight front and rear.

1st Beck’s SIMON BASSET DE RIA VELA FOR BEINANGUS(IMP ESP)NAF TAF This minor puppy has a mid-gold coat he still has a lot of growing to do but was carrying just the right amount of weight. This baby was well balanced overall with a dark eye, good pigmentation, good length of neck, straight front with correct bone for age with the very best of feet. Level top line with a correct tail set

1st Mackenzie’s LEYNOSK LAZARO Pale gold boy. Clean, muscular reach of neck into well laid-back shoulders straight front with an equal length of upper arm good forehand construction, deep through the heart, short coupled. Level top line. Strong pasterns both front and rear, well bent stifles, when settled moved straight and true from front and behind. Best Dog Puppy.
2nd Wallis LAMANCHA ROLL ON GOOD TIMES Another boy of pale gold colour he is a very nicely constructed dog overall. A lovely expressive, masculine head with a nice dark eye and dark pigment. An excellent front with good lay back of shoulder. Straight forelegs well sprung ribs and a level top line. Correct tail set and a nice turn of stifle lost out to 1 on movement.

JUNIOR DOG (4/2) 2 Absent
1st Kelly’s RAMCHAINE YOU SPIN ME RIGHT ROUND IN ZENEVIEVA (TAF) A mid gold dog in good coat. Extremely balanced all through with a lovely profile shape, a nice dark eye with strong dark pigment. Straight front, nice feet, shoulders laid back upper arm of equal length placing front legs well under. Deep through the heart with a well sprung ribcage and short muscular loin, strong hindquarters, which were well muscled, and the second thigh was of good width, correct turn of stifle. All this allowed him to be animated and powerful moving carrying his tail level. Hocks well let down and straight. I liked this boy a lot he also won the Maiden & Novice classes, and I gave him a second look when looking for my reserve CC one to watch in the future.
2nd Gerhold’s NAVILIS NOUVEAU VENU (IMP UKRAINE) This dog was of pale gold in colour A happy boy, he had a very nice coat in good condition, nice head with soft expression and a dark eye. Straight front with tight round feet, good spring of rib and short coupled with strong muscular rear quarters moved well.

1st McGeoch’s NEDLEZAH LOCHLEA Mid gold dog in good coat, nice balanced boy, pleasing head with a dark eye. Straight front, good reach of neck into well laid-back shoulders, short coupled, level top line, good rear angulation with strong straight hocks. Another happy lad. This dog was in a good condition with no excess weight.

A mid gold boy in a good coat, with a lovely masculine head and soft expression. This boy was happy, a handful for his handler and would not stand still for very long but you could see that his overall outline was good. He had a good reach of neck, straight front, a nice lay-back of shoulder, well sprung ribs a level top-line with correct tail-set, well bent stifle nice straight hocks.

1st Wilkinson’s PAJULA’S LITTLE DRUMMER BOY This boy was of a good size with a powerful masculine head with a dark eye, deep in the muzzle. He was mid gold in colour with a wavy coat. He had straight front with nice feet, well laid-back shoulders, deep through the heart and a good spring of rib, a level top line. Correct tail set, well bent stifles and strong straight hocks, he moved straight front and rear with drive.

This mid gold boy had a lovely kind dark eye and well-placed ears. Nice straight well boned forelegs onto tight feet. good ribbing and depth. Strong rear showing width to the thigh. Lovely profile movement,

A pale gold boy in good coat of good size He had a very pleasing kind, gentle expression with a dark eye. A balanced dog he stood tall. He had a straight front with tight elbows and nice feet. Strong clean neck into well laid shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm a level top line and correct tail set. Well-muscled rear quarters with a good second thigh. Moved with drive.
2nd Cruttwell’s ASHBYGLEN ALFRESCO JW Another pale gold boy, a little smaller than 1 he had a straight front with very well laid-back shoulders and an equal length of upper arm again placing his front legs well under the body. He was deep through the heart had well sprung ribs, correct length of ribcage with short loin, strong rear quarters and straight hocks moved well.

1st Clarke-Gear’s OUSEVALE TOBERMORY JW As this masculine pale gold boy entered the ring, he looked balanced and happy. A kind expressive head, well chiselled with a kind dark eye. Strong clean neck into well laid shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Straight forelegs with tight feet, deep through the chest and a good spring of rib. Level top-line, hindquarters strong with good width. This boy was in good coat.
2nd O’Gorman’s BERRYMEADE GRAND CENTRAL JW
Impressive mid gold male well chiselled head with dark expressive eyes, good fore-chest and layback of shoulder, good bone and feet. Well sprung ribs, good top-line and well bent stifle and strong hindquarters. Covers the ground easily with a very nice outline, lost out to first today as not in the best of coats.

1st Angell’s MILLANZA TOY STORY JW I have judged this boy before a few years ago and was pleased to see that he has matured well. When this boy entered the ring, he stood out with his glamorous pale gold coat, and I was not disappointed when I went over him. He stood four square and proud. I love his handsome well-balanced head with a kind, gentle biddable expression with the blackest of noses and dark eye. He had a correct straight front with tight elbows and round tight cat like feet. He has a good muscular length of neck into well laid-back shoulders long in blade, and a corresponding return of upper arm placing his front legs well under his body. A level top line and correct tail set, well-muscled rear quarters with a good second thigh, straight hocks well let down. Correct front and rear angulation set off his balanced profile and when moved he kept his super symmetrical balance and level tail carriage Was pleased to award him DOG CC and on referee’s decision RESERVE BEST IN SHOW.

A lovely boy with a mid-gold coat. Very balanced when stood in profile or moving. A pleasing masculine head he had a dark eye. Straight front and tight feet, a good reach of neck, well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, well sprung ribs, short coupled with strong hindquarters, level top line a good turn of stifle, strong straight hocks. Moved well.

1st Giltsoff ENDELLION SPINNAKER My first thought as this masculine mid gold dog entered the ring was how free from any exaggeration and symmetrical this boy looked and again was not disappointed when I went over him. A lovely full coat and carrying just the right amount of weight he had a masculine expressive head well chiselled with a kind dark eye and well-set ears. Strong clean neck into well laid shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Straight forelegs, deep through the chest and a good spring of rib, level top line, he was short coupled. Hindquarters powerful with good width of second thigh, well bent stifles. Strong straight hocks well let down with good forward reach at the front and excellent drive from behind he moved straight and true front and rear this was a very close decision to my CC winner was pleased to award him a Res CC
2nd Gerhold’s JAMARDY INDIGO PACIFIC JW
Another pale gold boy he was a little taller than the winner but had everything in the right place a nice head with a lovely gentle expression good length of neck Straight front and tight feet, level top line, good turn of stifle and straight hocks very exuberant on the move but was straight and true front and rear.
