CODE OF ETHICS
At all times the interests of the dog be paramount
In keeping with my dedication to further the betterment of our breed, I will endeavour to maintain the following minimum practices:-
1) To maintain the best possible standards of health and environment for my dogs, not keeping more than I can properly care for and am able to maintain.
2) To refuse to sell to unethical dealers or any buyers where I have reason to believe the dog will not be properly cared for.
3) To sell only puppies and adult dogs of sound health and temperament.
4) To keep and to pass on to buyers of puppies and adult dogs, accurate records of health, pedigree, registration, copies of parents eyes and hip certificates.
5) To advise on rearing including feeding, worming, vaccinations etc., and to provide an “after sales service” giving on-going advice to purchasers and when necessary.
6) Only to breed from Kennel Club registered, hip scored and current clear eye tested dogs and bitches and never from any animal suffering from any known hereditary defect.
7) Only to allow my dog to be used at stud to bitches who have been hip scored and possess current clear eye test certificates and are not suffering from any known hereditary defect.
8) If my dog is to be used at stud, to reach an agreement with the owner of the bitch, prior to mating, regarding arrangements for a re-mating should the bitch fail to conceive.
9) Never to breed puppies solely for financial gain.
10) To consider reimbursement, if necessary, and to help re-house the puppy if the sale proves unsatisfactory
