Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria Judges List Criteria
A1 LIST The minimum requirements for consideration for inclusion on the A1 List are:-
Persons who have been approved by the Kennel Club (KC) to award Challenge Certificates (CCs) in the Golden Retriever breed, and have satisfactorily completed their first appointment and have the support of the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria.
A2 LIST All persons who fulfill the requirements of the A3 List. They are to have been assessed in accordance with the KC requirements, accepted by the KC in inclusion on an A2 List, and have the support of the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria.
A3 LIST The minimum requirements for consideration for inclusion on the A3 List are:-
Breed Specialists Persons who own/show Golden Retrievers.
To have judged over a minimum period of seven years in a wide geographical area.
To have judged a minimum of 100 breed classes.
To have judged a minimum of 350 dogs in the breed.
To have owned or bred three Golden Retrievers eligible for entry into the KC Stud Book. (Save in exceptional circumstances.)
To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examinationon KC Regulations and Judging Procedures.
To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement.
To have attended at least one Breed Specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. (Effective from 1st July 2001.)
To have stewarded at 12 shows.
To have passed a Hands On Assessment. (KC policy effective from July 2005.)
To have judged a Breed Open Show or Supported Show.
To have the support of the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria.
To have attended a KC Field Trial at Open Stakes Level or an Open Gundog Working Test for the relevant Gundog Sub-Group before they can be approved to give Challenge Certificates.
Non Breed Specialists Applications from Non Breed Specialists will be considered on an individual basis, however, they must meet the following minimum requirements of the KC:-
To have a minimum of seven years judging experience of which at least five years must be in the breed, and have the support of the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria.
To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed.
To have stewarded at 12 shows.
To have judged 350 dogs in the breed and 100 classes.
To have attended at least one Breed Specific seminar run in accordance with the KC’s Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment. (Effective from 1st July 2001.)
To have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs of any breed when they obtained their 1st entry in the KC Stud Book. (Save in exceptional circumstances.)
To have judged a Breed Open Show or Supported Show.
To have the support of the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria.
To have attended a KC Field Trial at Open Stakes Level or an Open Gundog Working Test for the relevant Gundog Sub-Group before they can be approved to give Challenge Certificates.
B LIST
To have seven years experience owning and exhibiting in this breed, and a minimum of five years judging.
To have judged 30 classes of Golden Retrievers at Open Shows, Breed Club supported entry shows or Championship shows without CCs.
To have judged 150 dogs in breed classes.
To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures.
To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement.
To have attended a Conformation & Movement ‘Hands On Assessment’ conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.
To have attended at least one Breed Specific judging seminar and passed an examination and/or assessment (where applicable).
C LIST
For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of the Golden Retriever Club of Northumbria.
OVERSEAS JUDGES Would be required to fulfill the same criteria as above.
